Cancer Exercise Program in Partnership with Wellspring

Rebuild your Strength and Mobility

We are proud to collaborate with Wellspring, a trusted nonprofit organization, to offer a specialized Cancer Exercise Program designed for individuals who are undergoing or have completed cancer treatment. This class focuses on helping participants rebuild strength, improve mobility, and enhance their overall well-being in a safe and supportive environment.

Led by experienced physiotherapists, the program is tailored to each individual’s needs, addressing common challenges like fatigue, reduced range of motion, and muscle weakness. Our goal is to empower participants through movement, promoting both physical and emotional healing.

Whether you’re looking to regain strength or maintain mobility, we are here to support you every step of the way.

Assessment

Our comprehensive assessments are conducted in a private setting, with a compassionate and sensitive approach tailored to the unique needs of each participant.

Treatment Plan

Our 10-week program consists of two 1-hour exercise sessions per week in small, supportive groups where all participants share the experience of having had cancer. This group setting fosters motivation and connection.

Individualized Exercise and Rehabilitation for Breast Cancer Recovery

Our program offers personalized stretching, exercise, and strength training for the shoulder, upper extremity, abdominals, and trunk muscles to help women regain function post-treatment. Exercise has been proven to reduce fatigue, improve quality of life, assist with weight control, and lower the risk of breast cancer recurrence. Postural assessment and training are key components in recovery, helping clients resume daily activities, return to work, and pursue fitness goals. After a comprehensive evaluation, our physiotherapists design a custom home exercise program to meet each client’s specific needs.

If group work isn't your thing, start One-on-One private sessions

If group sessions aren’t for you, we also offer private one-on-one sessions. These provide all the benefits of the group program while delivering individualized care tailored to your specific needs.

Manual Therapy and Myofascial Release

Our skilled hands-on stretching targets stiff, painful joints, muscles, and fascia with reduced range of motion following lumpectomy, mastectomy (with or without reconstruction), and radiation. Manual therapy can also help alleviate Axillary Web Syndrome. Treatments are gentle and customized to each woman’s healing stage.

Lymphedema Education and Surveillance

We offer lymphedema education and monitor arm circumference regularly. Our education covers risk reduction, early detection, massage, and exercise techniques, along with referrals to lymphedema clinics for wrapping and compression garments when needed.
