Today everyone from professional athletes (yes, even Lebron James and David Beckham do Pilates) to older adults are practicing Pilates as the principles and benefits are universal. A body that is evenly balanced and conditioned allows for greater body awareness, performance and prevention of injury.

Pilates in a clinical rehabilitation setting focuses on removing joint and/or soft-tissue restriction, realigning the body, re-establishing motor control to create mindful, and pain free movement. Exercises within the Pilates repertoire challenge the body and mind to work together- which isn’t always easy! – and will bring you bring you more in tune with yourself.

Pilates can be adapted to every individual based on their specific needs and level of ability. Many of the basic principles of Pilates align with what research suggests to be an integral part of recovery from a multitude of conditions including chronic low back pain, osteoarthritis and sports injuries.

Initial Pilates sessions will be one hour to allow for assessment, goal development and go over some basic principles. Subsequent sessions will last either 30 minutes or one hour depending on the treatment plan and goals. Most extended health plans will cover your appointments, so please inquire when booking your appointment.
